The Currys are a home-grown acoustic folk duo born and bred in the Florida panhandle. Incorporating elements of country, bluegrass, blues, and rock, the Currys music showcases thoughtful songwriting, unassuming instrumentation, and mellifluous vocal harmonies. The band was formed when members Jimmy and Tommy Curry met one another over breakfast in June 2006 and agreed that they really ought to take advantage of the fact that they shared both a last name and a living room.
The Curry boys started playing locally over summers during college, frequently accompanied by singer/songwriter/cousin Galen Curry. In April 2011, the three Currys released their self-titled debut EP, to wide critical acclaim (both Mom and Dad liked it). The Currys will be performing and recording in and around the Port St. Joe/Apalachicola area during the months of July and August.
